Know About IBPS(Institute of Banking Personnel Selection).

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is a recruitment body that was started with an aim to encourage the recruitment and placement of young graduates in public sector banks in India. It also provides standardized systems for assessment and result processing services to organizations.
IBPS PO Bank Exam to select Probationary Officers in Public Sector banks. This Exam was conducted every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

IBPS started the Common Written Examination (CWE) in the year 2011 to recruit officers and clerks in Public Sector Banks. It accepts online application through its official website for registration of the examination.
Any interested candidate who can fulfill all the eligibility criteria is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process. The examination will be two-tier, the online examination will be held in two phases, Online Preliminary and Online Main. Candidates who will qualify in Online Preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Online Main examination and shortlisted candidates in the Online Main examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and co-ordinated by the Bank.

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS:

1.Nationality / Citizenship:

A candidate must be either –

  1. a Citizen of India or
  2. a subject of Nepal or
  3. a subject of Bhutan or
  4. a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories 2,3,4 & 5 above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

2. Educational Qualifications:

  • A Graduation(Degree) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India. or
  • Any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he/she registers and indicates the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

3. Age:

Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years. (Relaxation of Age is mentioned in the notification).

4. Structure of the Examination & Syllabus for CRP:

Penalty for Wrong Answers:(Applicable to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main examination) There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

*Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

*Every candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for the interview.

INTERVIEW:

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Online Main examination for CRP will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centers. The center, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are 7 required to download their interview call letters from authorized IBPS website www.ibps.in

The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates). The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Main Examination of CRP and Interview.
